Central Indiana non-profit (~65 staff)
The challenge
A Central Indiana non-profit was running its operations on aging on-premise infrastructure. The hardware had begun to fail, and a single server outage threatened both day-to-day operations and access to the organization's data - a risk a lean, mission-driven team could not afford to carry.
What TeknaByte did
- Migrated the organization's file data to SharePoint Online, making it resilient and accessible without a local server.
- Moved identity and device management from the on-premise domain controller to Microsoft Entra ID.
- Transitioned printing to a cloud-based solution, removing the last dependency on the local server.
- Decommissioned the aging on-premise hardware once every workload had been migrated.
The outcome
With every workload in the cloud, the non-profit retired its failing server entirely. That eliminated the cost and complexity of on-premise backups and removed the risk of a hardware failure taking the organization offline - giving the team a stable, scalable foundation to grow on.
